Process

We understand that choosing a carpenter for a one-off piece or as part of a larger building project can be difficult and stressful.

We have built our reputation on doing what we promise. An important part of this is being up-front about how we work, how long things take, and what things cost.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

We always begin by visiting you at your home or site to learn more about your project. There is no cost for this - it’s just a chance to get to know each other and find out whether we are going to be a good fit. If you prefer, we can arrange to meet at our workshop in St Ouen.

We do our best to work around your schedule and are usually able to schedule your initial consultation within a week.

DESIGN

If we both agree that we are going to be a good fit for your project, then we move onto the design phase.

This phase usually takes between 2 and 4 weeks to complete (although this can take a little longer depending on the complexity of the project). We will give you an indication of cost at this stage.

We often use computer generated designs to create an accurate, to scale design especially when it comes to planning an entire fitting or working with an unusual space.

As we work closely with our clients, it gives them a visual aid so they can assist in the design process tailoring to their tastes and needs.

Many people come to us with an idea of something they are inspired by and we work together with this technology to draw up their own personalised design. Having the ability to show someone their piece prior to it being made in fully 3 dimensional scale is an amazing development in our industry and a great way for people to create exactly what they desire down to the most specific detail.

TIMELINE & FINAL COSTS

Once you are happy with the design of your project, we agree a timeline and costs.

We are usually able to start projects within 4 to 8 weeks of sign off but this is dependent on the size of your project and any other work that we have already booked in so at busy times it may be a little longer.

We will always give you a clear indication of when we are able to start your project, and how long it will take to complete before you confirm your order.

OFF SITE WORK

Many of our projects begin in our workshop in St Ouen. This gives us access to a fantastic working environment with all of the latest tools and facilities including our new spray booth which allows us to get perfect paint finishes.

You are welcome to visit the workshop to see the progress of your project at any time.

ON SITE WORK

Once our team are on site to begin fitting, they are always managed by one of our senior team. They work cleanly, safely, and are happy working alongside other contractors on site.

The business is fully insured, we have first aiders on our staff, and all of our team have been through ACoP 9 Safe Use of Woodworking Machinery training.

We understand that sometimes timelines change (especially on larger projects) and we always aim to accommodate and be flexible whenever possible.
